What is Korea without Kimchi? It is a staple in many of their traditional dishes, it is so common to find it in all their meals as a side dish. It is usually made out of Napa cabbage, radish, some carrots and fused together with the red hot chili flake known as Gochugaru.
Here we learn the most basic kimchi, it is a great introduction to fermentation and a great dish to make for any meal. So get your jars out and clear out a shelf because your whole kitchen is going to smell like kimchi soon.
Butter Cake
This is one of the easiest cakes to bake. It strikes the perfect balance of sweet and savory. It is soft and fluffy a perfect cake to enjoy with a cup of tea or even for breakfast.
A simple cake for all to enjoy. All done within an hour. A cake for any party, gathering or even just for yourself. A great cake to bake with your kids, friends and family. Not to mention a great dessert to enjoy.
BUTTERY CAKE

In a bowl add in 250g of softened butter and 3/4 cup of sugar. Cream together with a hand mixer till light and fluffy or till all the sugar has dissolved into the butter.

Crack 1 egg at a time mixing together with the butter sugar mixture till well incorporated and fluffy before adding in the next egg. (Total 4 eggs)
Ingredients

1.5 Cups All Purpose Flour

4 Eggs

1/8 Cup Milk

1ts Vanilla Essence

3/4 Cup Sugar

250g Unsalted Butter

1ts Baking Powder

Add in 1/8 cup of milk and 1ts of vanilla essence. Gently mix till well combined.

In a separate bowl combine 1.5 cups of all purpose flour with 1ts of baking powder and 1ts of salt. Mix well.

Fold in the flour with the wet ingredients till just combined. This should be a rather thick batter almost dough like.

Line a 8x8 Inch taking tray with baking paper and gently pour your mixture into it. Gently tap the tray on a table to get rid of any pockets of air and attempt to smooth down the top.

Lightly cover the top with aluminum foil and place into a preheated oven at 180°C for 20 minutes.

Remove the aluminum foil and let it bake for another 15-20 minutes or till a cake tester comes out clean and the top is perfectly golden brown.

Set it aside to cool, slice it up and enjoyed with a nice cup of tea.
Enjoyed for breakfast with some coffee, tea time with some tea (duh) or even as a late night snack. This cake is sure to get you happy on all occasions.
