DAK BULGOGI


Dak Bulgogi is a Korean dish that features tender, thinly sliced chicken marinated in a savory and slightly sweet sauce. The term "bulgogi" translates to "fire meat," reflecting its traditional method of grilling over an open flame. However, in this version, we'll be preparing it on a stovetop for convenience. ​ Bulgogi is a beloved Korean dish known for its bold flavors and tender texture. It is commonly enjoyed by wrapping the meat in lettuce leaves along with a variety of fresh vegetables, such as cucumber, carrots, and radishes. This interactive eating style, known as ssam, allows you to create your own delectable wraps, combining the succulent chicken with the crispness of the veggies. ​ The beauty of Dak Bulgogi lies not only in its mouthwatering taste but also in its simplicity. With just a handful of ingredients, you can easily recreate this Korean favorite at home. So, let's get started and embark on a culinary adventure that will delight your taste buds and introduce you to the wonders of Korean cuisine!


Ingredients

  1. 400g Chicken Thighs

  2. 2tb Light Soy Sauce

  3. 1tb Mirin

  4. 2tb Honey

  5. 1tb Grated Ginger

  6. 4 Cloves of Garlic

  7. 1tb Sesame Seed Oil

  8. 1ts White Pepper


STEPS

  1. Begin by slicing your chicken thighs into slices.

  2. In a bowl combine together 2tb of light soy sauce, 1ts of mirin, 2tb of honey, 1tb of sesame seed oil, and 1ts of white pepper.

  3. Peel and grate some ginger into the marinated mixture along with 4 cloves of minced garlic.

  4. Add in your chicken and mix well, let it marinate for at least 5 minutes or up to overnight for the best results.

  5. In a wok or pan on high heat add in a little bit of oil and stir fry your chicken till cooked and perfectly glazed with a sticky yummy sauce.
