KIMCHI PORK BELLY

When 2 things come together only good can come out of it. This is exactly that. A perfect combination for any day for any meal.

A perfect combo of tender succulent pork belly marinated with sweet spicy gochujang, with a hint of added sweetness from honey, balanced out with tangy refreshing kimchi. There isn't anything more Korean than this. A perfect dish paired with rice or noodles, enjoyed with friends or alone.

Ingredients

  1. 500g of Pork Belly

  2. 1te of Sesame Seed Oil

  3. 1tb of Light Soy Sauce

  4. 1ts of Gochujang

  5. 1/2tb of Honey

  6. 1 Cup of Kimchi

STEPS

  1. Begin by slicing your pork belly into thin slices.

  2. In a bowl combine together 1tb of light soy sauce, 1ts of sesame seed oil, 1ts of gochujang (if you want it spicier add more) and 1/2tb of honey.

  3. In a wok or pan on high heat add in a little bit of sesame seed oil and char your pork belly slices in batches. You do not want to fully cook them, you just want to give them some colour.

  4. Return all your BEAUTIFULLY charred pork belly slices back into the pan and add in your gochujang mixture as well as 1 cup of kimchi and give it all a good mix. Let the mixture simmer for 5-8 minutes till the pork is fully cooked.

  5. Plate up and top with some fresh spring onions and sesame seeds.

Enjoyed with a bowl of freshly steamed rice, over some noodles or even in a sandwich.
