Ingredients
150g of Minced Pork
1tb of Light Soy Sauce
5 Dried Shiitake Mushrooms
1/2 a Carrot
1ts of Five Spice Powder
1ts of Vinegar
1ts of Sesame Seed Oil
Napa Cabbag
1 Clove of Minced Garlic
STEPS
In a bowl add your dried shiitake mushrooms and some hot water and let it steep for 5-10 minutes.
In another bowl add your Minced pork (try to get the 20% fat one), 1 table spoon of light soy sauce, 1/2 a carrot chopped very finely, 1 tea spoon of 5 spice power, 1 tea spoon of vinegar, 1 tea spoon of sesame oil and 1 clove of minced garlic.
Very finely chop your shiitake mushrooms and add it into the mixture and mix it all together.
Prepare your Chinese cabbage by chopping off the white hard bits only leaving the soft green bits.
Place a bit of your prepared meat mixture at the corner of the cabbage leaf and begin to wrap tightly into a roll. You should be able to make about 5-6 rolls.
Prepare your preferred method of steaming and let your cabbage rolls steam for 8-12 minutes.
Carefully remove and serve while steaming hot.
Hint: If you don't own a steamer, use a large skillet that is deep enough to fit a heat proof plate. Using a pair of chop sticks place it at the base and sit the plate above the chop sticks. Fill the skillet with water and cover with a lid or aluminum foil and let it steam away.
